Sonadow- Winter Kiss

Shadow shivers as he trudged through the snowy sidewalk without a scarf on to keep him warm. It was December and Christmas was coming soon. People were excited to see their relatives and have a beautiful Christmas huddled near the fireplace. Some were buying presents for their love ones and some were creating their presents with their bare hands.
But Shadow had no home to go to, no family or relatives to see, or a gift to give. Not even a gift to buy.

If you say he has nothing, you are wrong. Shadow will have something. Something, sweet, something warm, something…. to love.

"Shadow?" A soft voice called.

Shadow's POV

My eyes were sharp and squinted as I try to see through this bad weather. Snow stuck to my fur and it was ice cold when it pressed itself on my skin. I growl and shake myself to rid of the cold stuff, but more form when I stop my shaking and it starts itself over again.

"Shadow?" A familiar voice calls out my name and I turn to see my rival, Sonic The Hedgehog.
But… he was more than just my rival. He is my crush.


Sonic's POV

I was so excited when December hits Station Square! Putting on my green scarf Tails made for me, I was speeding down the street, dodging cars and leaping on leafless trees with the snow brushing up against my cheeks. The cold did not bother me much, it actually felt quite nice and delicious when I stuck my tongue out to catch the snowflakes gliding down from the clouds above. I jump off the tree and land on the sidewalk to wander around little before I head back home, when I something black and fuzzy going across the street.

"Shadow?" I called, eyes shining with happiness when I recognized my counterpart as he turned to face me when I called out his name.

His crimson, red eyes stare at him and I noticed something odd. His cheeks were all pink and I didn't know why. Then I noticed why. Or at least I think I know why. He's not wearing a scarf! He must be crazy to not wear something warm when it's -20 degrees out here. He could freeze!

But my eyes grew wide when I saw something bright behind the ebony hedgehog. Please don't let be…

"SHADOW! WATCH OUT!" I raced towards him and felt my heart stop for a split second when I saw the car come at my friend.

Shadow's POV

I heard a car coming and thought it was coming from the far upper left. I was too busy staring at my crush to notice it was not coming from the far upper left, but behind me at a fast speed, lights lighting up my black coat with snow clinging to it. Then Sonic points and shouts, "SHADOW, WATCH OUT!"

I snapped out of my daze and turn towards a gray van racing towards me. I thought, 'This is it.'  and closed my eyes tightly in fear and sadness with tears streaming down my flushed cheeks.

"Good bye, Sonic…" I whispered.

Normal POV

Sonic snatched Shadow off the street and jumps out of the van's way just in time. Carrying the black hedgehog bridal style, he was still soaring through the air with a trembling hedgehog in his arms. Sonic stole a glance at Shadow and stares in wonder. Such a beautiful face and adorable blush flourishing his cheeks, ear pinned down and hands up to his mouth. His fur covered in snow with a streetlight shining above them made it glisten with such admiration and beauty.

"Beautiful indeed." He whispered landing in the snow. "Shadow… open your eyes." He whispered.

Shadow opens his eyes and gazed up at the sapphire hedgehog. "You… you saved me."

"Of course. Why wouldn't I?"

Shadow blushed and stutters. "Um… uh… I…"

Sonic chuckles and shushed him. "There are no words for that question, Shadow."

…

…

They stare into each others' eyes and a snowflake falls and rests itself on Shadow's lips. Sonic caught sight of it and leans in closer to Shadow. The midnight hedgehog blushed harder and wanted to lean back, but Sonic was still holding him and he couldn't lean back even if he wanted to.

Sonic's POV

When I pressed my lips on Shadow's, I wanted to stay like this forever. His lips are so soft, warm, and he tastes so damn good! I dreamt of this day, and I was shocked that my counterpart didn't throw a crushing punch to my skull yet. I was expecting one, but it never came. Could he love me too?

I gently pull away, but my lips were still against his as I spoke softly over them, "I love you, Shadow."

"I… I love you too, Sonic." He whispered.

He does love me. My heart skipped a beat as a smile spreads across my face. I felt him shivers as he curls up in my arms, wanting to feel the warmth of my fur.

"Come on, you're coming home with me." I said softly, carrying my love to my home.

But now it's our home.
